The Audio Mill Bitbop Tuner is an application designed to make it easy for you to listen to and record Internet radio broadcasts. This application allows anyone to record the music of their choice by entering a list of artists which is then used a a search criteria to find radio stations that play those artists. These stations are then displayed in the tuner and can be listened to while Bitbop automatically records any song played by that artist.
How to use Bitbop:
1. STATION TUNER & TRACK SELECTION:
This is the page that displays the radio stations that Bitbop is currently monitoring. First, the Tuner must be turned on. This is done by clicking the on/off switch in the top right corner of the Tuner page. The Tuner will not automatically record your artists unless the Auto Record switch is set to on. Any song may be listened to when it is double-clicked (this may also be done by right-clicking). Any song that is played will show up in the player screen at the bottom of the page. The volume may be adjusted using the volune slider next to the player screen. Any unwanted recording can be cancelled, simply right click on the song.
3. ARTIST PREFERENCES
Stations will be located based on the artists you enter into the Artist/Group field. To edit any artist, click the edit button which will bring up a box in which to mae whatever changes are necessary. Artists may be deleted by highlighting the artist and then clicking the delete button.
4. RECORDED TRACKS
This window displays all the songs you have recorded using Bitbop Tuner. The controls at the top of the page control your playlist. Playlists are created by checking and unchecking the box next to each song. Songs that are checked will be played whereas songs that are unchecked will not. These controls include a shuffle function as well as an option for continuous play. Right-clicking on any song in the Recorded Tracks page will bring up a right-click menu. Here you have the option to re-record a song, get information about a song (not yet implimented), buy a song (not yet implimented), or listen to a song. The right-click menu also allows you to either check or uncheck all of the songs on the page. When you play a song it will appear in the player screen below. Songs may be played individually, outside the playlist format. To do this, simply double-click any song.
5. GETTING HELP
Clicking on the help button at the bottom of any page will direct you to a help page on the Audio Mill website.
6. PREFERENCES
The Preferences button brings up a box where your settings are stored. Set the directory where you would like your Recorded Tracks to be stored. Click the Select button to browse your hard drive for a directory. Next, select the internet connection speed that your computer is on. The System Usage button allows you to adjust the amount of system resources that Butbop will use. Higher settings will cause the tuner to return more stations.
